Monuments for victims of Nazi extermination and persecution

Stolpersteine are concrete cubes bearing a brass plate inscribed with the name and dates of life and death of the victims of Nazi extermination and persecution. They are small monuments for Jews, Gypsies, Gays, Politically Persecuted, etc. which from 1933 to 1945 became victims of the nazi exterminations.

In Berlin there are more than 5.000 Stolpersteine. And more than 38.000 all over European cities.

The project is created by the artist Gunter Demnig.
